How do I become a vendor?

Create an account on our site and fill out your profile with a short description and photos of your work. You can list individual pieces or small collections directly from your dashboard.

᎘ᎀʏᎍᎇɎ᎛ꜱ 💳 Setting Up Payments with Stripe All payments on Clay Commons are processed securely through Stripe, a trusted payment platform used worldwide. Connecting your Stripe account ensures you receive payments directly to your bank account after each sale.

🔧 How to Set Up Your Stripe Account Go to your Dashboard and click “Connect Stripe Account.” You’ll be redirected to Stripe’s setup page where you can create or link an existing account. Fill out your details, including your name or business name, tax ID (if applicable), and bank information.

Once connected, Stripe will verify your account — this usually takes just a few minutes. After setup, you’ll be ready to receive payouts automatically when you make a sale. If you don’t have a Stripe account yet, you can learn more and sign up here: 👉 https://stripe.com

🕒Payouts & Processing Times Payouts are typically sent 2–5 business days after a sale is completed. You’ll see payments in your Stripe Dashboard, and funds go directly to the bank account you linked during setup.

You can adjust your payout frequency (daily, weekly, or monthly) directly in your Stripe settings.

Currency & Fees All sales on Clay Commons are processed in USD. Stripe charges a standard processing fee (around 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction). Shipping & Delivery

How does shipping work? Shipping can work a few different ways depending on what you prefer: Personal account: When someone buys a piece, you’ll receive an email notification with the buyer’s details and handle the shipping yourself (USPS, FedEx, Estafeta, etc.). If sales are local you can offer "studio pickup" or local delivery. Studio sales: Studios can offer “studio pickup” or local delivery. Large or fragile pieces: Add a note in your listing that shipping will be coordinated directly with the buyer, so you can agree on the safest method (for example, hand delivery or a specialty courier).

How do I set shipping prices? You can set individual shipping prices for each item. We recommend estimating based on weight, size, and packaging materials.

Studio Profiles

How do studio profiles work? Studios can create a shared page featuring their members’ work, upcoming classes, and drop-in sessions. Each member can link their individual pieces to the studio page for visibility.

Returns & Policies Are sales final? Yes, all sales are final unless a piece arrives damaged. Vendors are responsible for secure packaging and clear communication with buyers.

What if a piece breaks during shipping? Please work directly with the buyer to resolve it and consider offering a replacement or refund if appropriate. Document any damage with photos for your records.

Getting Started

Do I need an account to buy something? You can browse freely. To buy, you’ll need to make a free account so your order and payment can be processed and you can msg the artist.

Buying

How do I make a purchase? Click Buy Now on a piece you like. Once you pay, the artist or studio will get your order and prepare the shipment.

How are payments handled? All payments are processed through Stripe. To purchase a piece, you'll be asked your payment information that can be 1. stored in your account 2. received at checkout.

Can I buy from multiple artists at once? Each artist handles their own sales, so purchases from different vendors are processed separately.

Shipping

How does shipping work? Each artist manages their own shipping. Most ship through USPS, FedEx, or Estafeta. Some offer studio pickup for local buyers.

For large or fragile pieces, the seller might contact you directly to arrange the safest delivery option.

When will my order ship? Usually within 5–7 business days. You’ll get an email with tracking once it’s shipped.

Payments

What currency do you use? All sales are in USD.

Is it secure? Yes. Payments are processed through Stripe and fully encrypted.

Returns

Can I return or exchange a piece? All sales are final, unless your order arrives damaged.

What if it breaks in shipping? Contact the seller within 5 days of delivery with photos. Most will offer a refund or replacement if possible.

Supporting Artists

Where does my money go? Directly to the artist or studio.

Can I contact artists? You can message sellers through their profiles to ask about commissions or restocks.
